Ahmed Jehanzeb Usmani (born May 28, 1978) is a Pakistani pop singer and composer. Famously known as AJ, was born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

Ahmed Jehanzeb is one of the few singers who have been trained in Hindustani classical music and that is why he mostly sings soul stirring slow songs. Ahmed Jehanazeb as a singer, performer & musician, is one who displays mastery not only over vocal & instrumental music but also in the art of showman ship. Ahmed was trained under the guidance of Ustad Rais Khan, he was made his shagird (pupil) in a beautiful ceremony called RASM-E-GANDHA BANDHI held at Sheraton Hotel in 1988. The ceremony one of its kind to be ever held in India and Pakistan was attended by celebrities, dignitaries and media people, it was a very grand affair.

The wonder boy, Ahmed Jahanzeb, has finally launched his debut album titled Parastish. If you listen to this album once your heart will yearn for more.

The album kicks off with the smashing hit Kaho aik din that was preceded by a superb video. Next comes Aaj ki raat which starts slowly but then the tempo changes into a fast classical music with the use of taablas, flutes etc. The song placed on number three is a soft romantic one Joray. Mujhay pyar chahiay is typical Jahnezeb creation, the song is slow and melodious with few raags in between. Aap ki yaad is the real essence of this album, which is also a track for Daira, and has acoustic guitars and keyboard jamming in the song. Barsoon kay baad, the title song of a telefilm, is another slow romantic number. Haan is a typical sluggish song, which is not that impressive. Tu jo nahi is a treat for the musical ears; this song’s video made him a sensation in the music industry. The only rock ‘n’ roll song that from the beginning will boost your spirit is Who mili jab sey. Intizaar is a bhangra mixed song, which will take you on a roll. Lagan Lagee is another fast bhangra Punjabi song.

The last but not least is Aansoo, which completes the album and starts with acoustic guitars and few feats of English lyrics.

Over all this album is more for people in their 20s and 30s but a few songs may click with the youngsters.
